Eric Egland Memorial: Eric Egland was a valued member of the West Linn Lions Club. His enthusiasm and dedication to serving the community were inspirational. TBS Overview: Each year, the Eric Egland Family provides 1 or 2 scholarships to West Linn graduating seniors interested in pursuing a higher education major or career in business. The scholarships have been up to $3,000.00 annually. The Family has now given away 8 scholarships (totaling $16,500) to West Linn High School graduates over the past 6 years. The primary scholarship funding mechanism for the past eleven years has been through family and friends donations. Cash contributions are encouraged through the Lions Foundation of West Linn (a 501(c)(3) organization) with confirmation available for tax purposes. A key component of the scholarship fundraising success has been that every dollar raised goes directly to scholarships. Endowment: The Family will establish an endowment to aid in the scholarship grants. As it continues to grow, the Family will be able to use the investment gains to provide more scholarships or increase the amount granted. We accept tax-deductible donations through our Lions Foundation of West Linn, a 501(c)(3) certified non-profit entity. |
